Laconia Motorcycle Week 2023: Our Journey Continues, But Not As Planned

Introduction

Laconia Motorcycle Week is an annual event that is held in New Hampshire, USA. It is a celebration of all things motorcycles, and it’s a popular event for those who love to ride and those who just admire the beauty of these machines. The 100th anniversary of Laconia Motorcycle Week was scheduled to take place in 2023, and my friends and I were excited to attend.

However, our trip to Laconia didn’t go as planned. We encountered several challenges along the way, but we made the most of the journey. In this article, I will share our experience and provide tips for those planning to attend Laconia Motorcycle Week in the future.

Journey towards Laconia, NH for 2023 bikeweek 100 anniversary

Our journey to Laconia started off smoothly. We packed our gear and hit the road early on a Friday morning. The weather was perfect for a road trip, and we were all excited to attend the 100th anniversary of Laconia Motorcycle Week.

As we were driving towards our destination, we encountered some traffic on the highway. But, we didn’t let it dampen our spirits. We were still excited to attend the event and witness the celebrations.

Placing the CB radio in the truck’s interior

One of the things that we had to take care of before the journey was installing a CB radio in our truck. We wanted to communicate with each other during the trip, and a CB radio was the best way to do it.

We decided to place the CB radio in the truck’s interior for ease of access. It was important to choose a suitable location where we could easily see the radio and operate it without any hassle.

Choosing where to mount the CB radio

Mounting the CB radio was another task that we had to take care of before the journey. We decided to mount the radio on the dashboard, as it was the best location for us. It provided good visibility, and we could easily reach it.

Bought new CB antenna, mount, and Gear Keeper

We also decided to buy a new CB antenna, mount, and Gear Keeper. It was essential to have good-quality equipment to ensure clear communication during the trip.

We opted for a fiberglass antenna as it was lightweight and durable. The mount was easy to install, and the Gear Keeper kept the CB radio in place and prevented it from falling.

Stopped at a gas station

As we were driving towards Laconia, we stopped at a gas station to refuel. We wanted to make sure that we had enough fuel to get us to our destination.

Expensive fuel at Whites Travel Center

We were surprised to see the high prices of fuel at Whites Travel Center. The fuel was way more expensive than we had anticipated. However, we decided to refuel at this station as we didn’t want to risk running out of fuel on the way.

Quicker service and cheaper fuel at Sheets

On our way back, we stopped at Sheets to refuel. We found that the fuel was cheaper, and the service was quicker. However, we had to wait in a long line before we could fill up our tank.

Waiting in a long line for cheap fuel at Sheets

We had to wait for almost 30 minutes in a long line at Sheets. It was frustrating, but we were happy with the money we saved on fuel. We were able to fill up our tank for a lower price than what we paid at Whites Travel Center.

Conclusion

Our journey to Laconia Motorcycle Week didn’t go as planned. We encountered several challenges, but we were able to overcome them. We had a great time at the event and were able to witness the 100th anniversary celebrations.

If you’re planning to attend Laconia Motorcycle Week in the future, make sure to plan your trip well in advance. Install a CB radio in your vehicle, choose a suitable location to mount it, and buy good-quality equipment. And most importantly, don’t forget to fill up your tank before hitting the road!
